NHS Charity Blue Skies (the charity for Blackpool Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust) held its annual festive fun run this month, beginning at Blackpool Zoo before the runners jingled their way around Heron’s Reach. Teams representing NHS workers, local businesses, sports clubs and the general public all donned their Elf costumes to say thanks and give back to their NHS Trust in this festive, fun filled event.

Paula Wright, Community Fundraiser, said: “We’re thrilled that so many people braved the cold to come to our Elf Run. This run is one of our main Christmas events and it’s great to see it getting bigger and bigger every year.”

The charity continues its festive season with their “Walkies for Wards” and Give a Gift appeal throughout December.

With all the festive fundraising this time of year, could this event could be replicated across all NHS Charities and become a National phenomenon?
